Indian Matrimony
Matchmaking across India, family to family
One country, hundreds of communities, and a search that deserves real care.

The things a real search turns on
Community and identity
Community, sub-community, gotra, and mother tongue are matters of family history and belonging, never rank. Evara matches on community, and treats no family as above or below another.
Values over labels
Two families can share a community and still differ on how observant, how modern, or how private they are. We match on what a household actually values, not the label on the form.
City and relocation
Staying in the same city, moving for work, or bringing a spouse across the country all change who is a good match. We establish this early rather than discovering it late.
The families, not only the two people
Most Indian marriages are decided with parents and elders involved. We keep the family close to the process, at the pace and level of involvement each household prefers.
What We Weigh
A match across India is rarely about a checklist. These are the considerations we take seriously from the first conversation.
Verification done properly
Every profile is reviewed by our team and must be complete before it can be shown or seen. Where documents are provided, education and employment details are reviewed too. What each check establishes, and what it does not, is set out on the profile verification page. How profiles are checked.
Privacy and discretion
Your details are shared only with your explicit approval and never listed for the public. In close community circles where word travels, that discretion matters.

Matchmaking that respects how India marries
One Country, Many Communities
For over 14 years, Evara has helped Indian families find the right match with attention to community, values, and the way each family actually decides.
India is now the most populous country in the world, with more than a billion people counted at the last census, twenty-eight states and eight union territories, and twenty-two languages written into the Constitution itself. No single template describes how a family here looks for a match. A household in Delhi and one in Chennai can share the same hopes for their child and still mean very different things by community, by ceremony, and by the questions that matter most before an alliance is agreed.
That variety is exactly what a search engine full of filters handles badly. It can sort by age and city, but it cannot understand why a family cares about gotra, or sub-community, or a shared mother tongue, or the difference between settling in the same city and moving across the country. Community remains central to how most Indian families marry, and treating it as one more dropdown flattens the thing families care about most.
Evara was built for the way India actually decides, which is together, as families, with the people involved kept close to the process rather than left to swipe alone. We learn what your household means by a good match, then do the finding, the verifying, and the introducing with that in mind, whichever community and whichever part of the country you belong to.
How the search actually runs
How It Works
It starts with a proper conversation, usually forty-five minutes to an hour, in person or over video. We learn the community and sub-community, the mother tongue, dietary and lifestyle preferences, where the family expects the couple to live, what the family hopes for in a match’s career and outlook, and the things a household would never think to write on a form. That conversation, not a questionnaire, is the foundation for everything that follows.
From there, matches are put forward with reasons, not just photographs. Introductions are video-first wherever the two families are in different cities, so both sides can meet properly before anyone books a train or a flight. When a match is worth pursuing, we help plan the in-person meeting of the families around visits home, festivals, or a trip arranged for the purpose. Cross-city matchmaking, in particular, only works when the early meetings are easy, and video makes them easy.
One point of honesty about how we work, because families ask. On membership you have a verified profile that matched families can see. On our personalised and concierge plans a matchmaker manages the introductions for you and speaks with the families directly. And for families who want complete privacy, our invite-only Luxe service carries no digital profile at all. We match the level of visibility to what your household is comfortable with, rather than pretending one arrangement suits everyone.
Why a reviewed profile changes the search
Verification
The single most useful thing a good matchmaker does is make sure the people at the table are who they say they are. On Evara, every profile is reviewed by our team and must be complete before it can be shown or seen. Photos are checked for consistency, and where documents are provided, education and employment details are reviewed too. This is not about grand promises. It is about the ordinary work of confirming the basics before two families invest their hopes in a match.
It matters because Indian law takes marriage seriously, and so should the search that leads to one. Hindu marriages are governed by the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955, Muslim marriages by the Muslim Personal Law application of 1937, and any couple may marry under the Special Marriage Act of 1954 regardless of religion. The legal age is twenty-one for men and eighteen for women. We are not lawyers and we point families to official sources for the formalities, but careful verification at the start prevents most of the difficulties these laws exist to address.
When a search needs particular care
Specialised Needs
Not every search is the same, and some deserve a service built around them. Families abroad face verification and coordination across borders, which is where our NRI matchmaking comes in. Second marriages carry their own considerations, from children and blended families to the practical prerequisite of a divorce decree, handled with dignity in our Divorced Rishtey service. And people marrying later in life, by choice or circumstance, deserve matching within a realistic pool and without ageism, which is what our Late Marriages service is for.
What stays the same across all of them is the method: learn the family properly, verify carefully, introduce with reasons, and keep the households close to the decision. The difference is only in the considerations each situation brings. If you are not sure which fits, a first conversation will make it clear, and there is no cost to having it.
What It Costs
Two routes for Indian families, and what each costs
The difference between the two routes is who does the choosing. On membership the matching is algorithmic and a person checks each profile. On the matchmaker led services a named person reads your family and picks every introduction.
Membership
₹999 a month, and nothing at all to join
Matches are chosen for you and a small set arrives each day. Every profile is checked by a person before it appears. Nobody is assigned to your family. Lifetime is the same service bought once instead of monthly. Membership does not include a matchmaker, and the membership page sets out what selection involves and what the Select and Reserve tiers add. Is a matchmaker included.
See every membership term and lifetime
Matchmaker led
Select from ₹51,000 for 6 months (also ₹75,000 for 12 months or ₹1,00,000 until married)
Reserve is ₹2,51,000 in total, in two parts, with the second part due at a Roka with a family Evara introduced. Luxe is by invitation.
A named relationship manager learns your family, chooses each introduction by hand, gives you the reasoning for it, and is with you at family meetings in Delhi NCR, and on video call across India. Select is the first of these services and Reserve is the senior service above it. Each is bought separately, from the other and from membership.
Lifetime membership is one payment that never renews, and it is priced on its own page. Select and Reserve are priced inclusive of GST, and each is bought on its own. Read the Payment Terms before you pay.
✦ Reserve suits families who want a senior matchmaker to run the whole search. For families who want complete privacy, our invite-only Luxe service carries no digital profile at all, with a Senior Relationship Manager and full discretion. Membership and details are discussed privately. Who the assisted service suits, and who it does not, is set out on the matchmaking page. Who it suits.

Indian Matrimony FAQs
Do you match within a specific community, and across communities too?
Both. Community, sub-community, gotra, and mother tongue are matters of family identity and history, and Evara matches on community. Where a family is open to matching across communities, or is looking under the Special Marriage Act which allows a civil marriage regardless of religion, we work to that brief instead. No family is treated as above or below another.
How are profiles verified?
Every profile is reviewed by our team and must be complete before it can be shown or seen. Photos are checked for consistency, and where documents are provided, education and employment details are reviewed too. On our personalised and concierge plans a matchmaker also speaks with the families directly.
Do parents and family stay involved in the process?
As much or as little as your household prefers. Most Indian marriages are decided with parents and elders involved, and we keep the family close to the process at the pace each family is comfortable with, from the first profiling conversation through to the meeting of the two families.
What is the honest difference between membership, concierge, and Luxe?
On membership you have a verified profile that matched families can see. On personalised and concierge plans a matchmaker manages introductions for you and speaks with the families directly. Our invite-only Luxe service carries no digital profile at all and is discussed privately. We match the level of visibility to what your family is comfortable with.
Common Questions
Can you match a family in one city with a match in another part of India?
Yes, and cross-city matching is a large part of what we do. Introductions are video-first so both families can meet properly before anyone travels, and we help plan the in-person family meeting around visits home, festivals, or a trip arranged for the purpose. Whether the couple will settle in one city or relocate is established early, because it changes who is a good match.
We have a specific need, such as an NRI, second, or later marriage. Can you help?
Yes. We run dedicated services for NRI families, for divorced men and women seeking a respectful second marriage, and for people marrying later in life. The method is the same careful matchmaking; the difference is the considerations each situation brings. A first conversation, at no cost, will point you to the right fit.
