Safety, in plain words.
How Evara protects your family, what we never ask for, and whom to call.

How Evara protects your family.
What happens before a profile is shown, and what stays private.
What each protection does, and does not
- A person on our team approves every photograph before anyone else can see it.
- A selfie check, with a liveness step, is compared against the member’s own photos before a profile is shown. It confirms the person on camera matches those photos. It is not proof of identity, and it verifies nothing a family has written about age, marital status, education, property or family standing.
- A government ID, a video selfie and proof of income are optional. Where a member completes one, our team reviews it and it shows as a badge on the profile.
- Evara does not reveal a member’s email address, and a member’s phone number reaches another member only when both have said yes and its owner has chosen to share it. After mutual interest opens a chat, members can choose whether to exchange their own contact details there.
- A member can also choose to keep photos and the written profile hidden until both people show interest.
- Read how Evara verifies profiles for the full limits of each check, and our matrimonial safety guide for what to check yourself.
What Evara will never ask.
If someone asks for these in our name, stop and call us.
What we never ask, and how to pay
- We never ask for your OTP, the code sent to you to sign in. It is for you alone.
- We never ask for your password.
- We never ask for card details, a CVV or a UPI PIN on WhatsApp or on a call. Card details are typed only into Razorpay’s own payment page.
- The ways to pay Evara are Razorpay, either in the portal or through a Razorpay payment link our team sends you, and, if you prefer, NEFT or cheque, which you arrange by calling +91 93555 66533.
- If anyone who says they are from Evara asks you to pay in any other way, or says a payment is urgent, do not pay. Call us on +91 93555 66533 first, Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM IST.
Red flags a family can spot.
One is a reason to slow down. Two together is a reason to stop.
All five red flags
- Asks for money. Any amount, for any reason: a loan, a gift, a ticket, a fee or an investment. Do not send money to someone you have not met and checked.
- Refuses to video call. Or keeps finding a reason why the camera is broken, the signal is bad or this week is not possible.
- Rushes to move off the platform. A push to WhatsApp, Telegram or a private number within days, before families have met.
- The story does not add up. Work, city, family or age change from one conversation to the next, or the photographs look too polished to be real.
- An emergency overseas. A sudden arrest, hospital bill, customs fee or stranded trip abroad that needs your money today.
- One of these is a reason to slow down. Two together is a reason to stop. Report the profile in the portal, and read our matrimonial safety guide for the pattern these frauds follow.
Report or block, in the portal.
Both start from the menu beside a name, on a profile or in a conversation.
How to report a profile
- Sign in to the Evara portal and open the profile or the conversation.
- Tap the menu beside the person’s name, then Report.
- Choose what happened: sexual or inappropriate messages, asked for money, tried to move off the platform, fake profile or impersonation, abusive language, threats or intimidation, or other.
- Add details if you wish, then tap Submit report. Your report is confidential and goes to our safety team.
- You can block the person straight after, from the same screen.
How to block, and undo it
- Open the profile or the conversation, tap the menu beside the name, then Block.
- Confirm. You and that person stop seeing each other in browse, matches, interests and messages.
- To undo it, open Settings and choose Unblock beside their name.
Whom to call.
The government helplines first if money is lost or you feel unsafe.
Each helpline, and when to use it
- 1930. The National Cyber Crime Helpline, run by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Call it as soon as money has been sent through a suspected fraud. Complete the complaint on cybercrime.gov.in.
- cybercrime.gov.in. The National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, run by the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre. File the complaint here, with screenshots and payment details. It asks for your name and an Indian mobile number.
- 181. The Women Helpline, a 24 hour service for women facing violence or harassment. It can link you to the police and other help.
- 112. The national emergency number, for police, fire and health emergencies. Call it if anyone is in danger right now.
- Keep screenshots, the profile link and payment details ready. These are government services and not Evara’s, so ask them what they need. The official pages are the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, the Ministry of Home Affairs press release on the 1930 helpline, and the National Commission for Women list of helplines at ncw.gov.in.

Five questions, answered.
What families ask when something feels wrong.
Will Evara ever ask for my OTP, password or card details?
No. We never ask for an OTP, a password or card details on WhatsApp or on a call. The code sent to you to sign in is for you alone. Card details are typed only into Razorpay’s own payment page.
How do I pay Evara safely?
Pay through Razorpay, either in the portal or through a Razorpay payment link our team sends you. If you prefer NEFT or cheque, call us on +91 93555 66533 and we will arrange it. If anyone asks you to pay any other way, call us before you pay.
Does the selfie check prove who someone is?
No. The selfie check, which has a liveness step, shows that the person on camera matches the photos on their profile. It is a photo consistency check and not proof of identity. A person also approves every photo before anyone sees it.
How do I report or block a profile?
Open the profile or the conversation in the portal, tap the menu beside the name, and choose Report or Block. Blocking works both ways, so you stop seeing each other, and you can undo it from Settings.
What should I do if I have lost money to a scam?
Call 1930 straight away, then file the complaint on cybercrime.gov.in. Keep screenshots and payment details. Call 112 if anyone is in danger, and tell us on +91 93555 66533 so we can act on the profile.
