Evara Matrimony offers both routes: a membership that is free to join, where matches chosen for you arrive each morning, and Personalised matchmaking, on Select and Reserve, where a person learns your family and brings introductions with reasons attached. The simplest way to start is a free profile: watch the matches for a few weeks, then pay for a matchmaker only if time and screening turn out to be what is missing. To ask first, call or WhatsApp +91 93555 66533, Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM IST.
The fee buys something real if nobody at home has the hours to read, screen and follow up properly, and you want a person to learn your family and stay with the search. It is not worth it if you are not yet ready to marry, if you want to see every option and decide alone, or if the cost would strain the household. The rest of this guide sets out what the money actually buys, what it cannot buy at any price, what Evara charges, a way to weigh the cost against the value, and the questions to ask before paying. We sell both kinds of service, so we would rather you chose the one that fits.
What are you actually paying for?
You are paying for a person's hours and judgment. A matchmaker spends time with your family before any search begins: what you value, how you live, what the family expects, and what you have already said no to and why. Then the matchmaker does the part that exhausts most families, which is reading a great many profiles to find the few worth your time, speaking to the other side, and explaining each introduction before you meet.
After each meeting there is a conversation about what worked and what did not, and the next introduction is sharper for it. That loop is most of the value. A matrimony site gives you access. A matchmaker gives you attention. The stages are set out one by one in how the premium matchmaking process works, the category as a whole in what premium matchmaking means, and a real search step by step in how a matchmaker works.
What does paying not buy?
Four things, and a service that implies otherwise deserves a second look.
- A guarantee. Nobody can promise that you will marry, or by when. Evara makes no such promise at any price, and a service that names a date is selling hope.
- A stricter check on profiles. At Evara the same review applies to every profile, free or paid. A higher tier buys a matchmaker's time, not a different standard. What that review establishes, and what it does not, is set out on profile verification, and how to verify a matrimony profile covers the checks that stay with your family.
- Your money back if it does not work out. Payments to Evara are final and non-refundable, including if you do not find a match. That is on the payment terms page, and it is worth reading before you pay us, as any service's terms are worth reading before you pay them.
- Your own part in it. The meetings, the family conversations and the decision stay yours. A matchmaker removes the reading and the chasing, not the choosing.
What does premium matchmaking cost at Evara?
Across the Indian market, fees run from a few thousand rupees a month at the light end to several lakh for a full concierge engagement, and the spread mostly reflects how much of the work a person takes off you. Evara publishes every price on the packages page, with one exception named below, so you can do the sums before you speak to anyone.
Joining Evara is free, and it stays free. Your profile, your photographs and your verification are free, always. Membership is ₹999 a month, against the standard ₹2,999. It renews automatically each month until you turn renewal off. A longer term costs less for each month of it. Paid membership gives you more interests to send each day, and more matches each morning, chosen around your preferences. Membership never includes a dedicated matchmaker. The fuller comparison is in free and paid matrimony membership compared.
Select is personalised matchmaking, guided by one person who knows your family, from ₹51,000 for 6 months (also ₹75,000 for 12 months or ₹1,00,000 until married), paid from day one. Reserve is senior-level matchmaking, with our team beside you until the Roka. It is ₹2,51,000 in total, in two parts, with the second part due at a Roka with a family Evara introduced: for 12 months, ₹1,11,000 to register and ₹1,40,000 at the Roka, or until marriage, ₹1,51,000 to register and ₹1,00,000 at the Roka. Select and Reserve are bought separately. All prices inclusive of 18% GST.
Luxe is our private, invitation only service, arranged entirely in person for a very small circle of families. It is never sold or priced online.
| Service | Who does the work | What it costs |
|---|---|---|
| Membership, free | Matches chosen for you arrive each morning at 10, and you decide whom to approach | Nothing, and it never runs out |
| Membership, paid | The same, with more interests to send each day and more matches, chosen around your preferences, each morning | ₹999 a month, less for each month on a longer term |
| Select | A dedicated relationship manager shortlists introductions and is with you at family meetings in Delhi NCR, and on video call across India | From ₹51,000 for 6 months, ₹75,000 for 12 months or ₹1,00,000 until married |
| Reserve | A senior relationship manager verifies every family personally, and our team arranges each meeting through to the Roka | ₹2,51,000 in total, in two parts, the second due at a Roka with a family Evara introduced |
| Luxe | Arranged in person, by invitation | Not published |
How to weigh the cost against the value
A fee only makes sense against the work it replaces, so start with the work rather than the price. Four steps, done together as a family, will usually settle it.
- Write down who does the search now, and how many evenings it takes. If one parent reads profiles late every night and the person getting married has stopped looking, the search is already costing the family something, just not in rupees. If the load is light and shared, a matchmaker has little to take off you.
- Name what is going wrong. Too few matches is a volume problem, and paid membership answers it for ₹999 a month, or ₹8,999 for 12 months, which works out at ₹750 a month. Meetings that go nowhere, or matches nobody has the time to screen, are a judgment problem, and more profiles will not fix that. That is the gap Personalised matchmaking is priced for.
- Look at when each payment falls due, not only the total. Select is paid from day one, so the fee is committed before the search begins. Reserve splits its fee: a registration first, and the second part only at a Roka with a family Evara introduced. On the 12 month option the larger part sits at the Roka, ₹1,40,000 against ₹1,11,000 to register. On the until-marriage option more is paid at registration, ₹1,51,000, and less at the Roka, ₹1,00,000. Membership is lighter still: a monthly plan renews until you turn it off, and the 3, 6 and 12 month terms do not renew.
- Match the term to how long you expect to search. Nobody can promise how long a search will take, so be honest about your own expectations. If you think it may run beyond a year, compare Select for 12 months at ₹75,000 with Select until married at ₹1,00,000, which has no time limit, before settling on the shorter term.
Then set the two sides against each other. On one side, the evenings, the screening and the follow-up you have written down. On the other, the fee and when it falls due. If the list of work is long and the fee would not strain the household, a matchmaker is likely to be worth it. If the list is short, keep the money: a free or paid membership brings matches chosen for you each morning, and your family decides whom to approach.
When is it worth paying for a matchmaker?
In our experience it tends to be worth it in a handful of recognisable situations.
- Both parents work, the person getting married works longer hours still, and the search has become the job nobody has time for.
- The family has spent months reading profiles and has met nobody worth a second meeting, which usually means the screening, not the pool, is the problem.
- What matters most will not fit in a dropdown: how a family makes decisions, how observant it is, what a joint or a nuclear household really means to each side.
- The search is sensitive, for example a second marriage, and you want a person to handle first approaches with discretion.
- The person getting married lives abroad, and someone needs to speak to families in India and coordinate calls across time zones, which is what NRI matchmaking is for.
In each case the scarce thing is attention, and attention is what a matchmaker sells. For families in and around the capital, the Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida pages describe how a search runs there, and community pages such as Punjabi and Aggarwal cover what those families tend to ask for first.
Who is premium matchmaking not worth it for?
- Anyone not yet ready to marry. A matchmaker's time is wasted on a search that is still hypothetical, and so is your money.
- Families who want to see every option and decide alone. That is a perfectly good way to search, and a free profile does it well.
- Anyone for whom the fee would be a strain. A search that begins under financial pressure tends to end in a rushed decision.
- Anyone unwilling to give honest feedback after meetings. The loop only works if you say what did not work, including to a matchmaker you like.
- Anyone paying mainly for a guarantee, a deadline or a bigger pool. None of those is on sale, here or anywhere honest.
Two more situations deserve a plain word, because families in them sometimes pay for the wrong thing. If you have already found a family you like and want someone to check them, a matchmaker is not the tool: introductions are the service, and the checks on a proposal you found yourselves stay with you, as our matrimonial safety guide sets out. And if the person getting married has not agreed to an assisted search, paying on their behalf rarely helps. A matchmaker needs honest answers and feedback from them, not only from their parents.
How to decide without wasting money
Start with what is free. Create a profile, let the matches arrive each morning for a few weeks, and notice what is missing. You have an allowance for the introductions you start each day. Paid membership raises that limit and brings you more introductions. If you are meeting people and the only gap is volume, that may be all you need. If the gap is time and judgment, that is the moment to look at a matchmaker, and our personalised matchmaking service explains how ours work.
Questions to ask any matchmaker before you pay
Ask these in writing, of any service including ours, and keep the answers. A service that is vague on any of them is telling you something.
- Who exactly will run our search, and can we speak to that person before paying? A named person you can reach matters more than a brand.
- How is each introduction chosen, and will you tell us why? A reason attached to each introduction is the clearest sign that someone has read both families, not just filtered a list.
- What is checked, by whom, and what is left for us to check? The answer should be specific. Ours is on the profile verification page, including what it does not cover.
- What is due now, what is due later, and what triggers a later payment? At Evara, Select is paid from day one, and Reserve is paid in two parts, the second due at a Roka with a family Evara introduced.
- What happens when the term ends and nothing has come of it? At Evara, a Reserve family whose 12 months end without a Roka chooses between closing the plan with nothing more due, the registration not refunded, and moving to the until-marriage option by paying the ₹40,000 difference. Payments are final, so ask this before you pay, not after.
- How do we reach you, and when? At Evara, +91 93555 66533 is answered by voice and on WhatsApp, Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM IST.
How to evaluate a matchmaker goes further into judging the answers you get, how to verify a premium matrimony service before you trust it covers the registration and paperwork side of that conversation, and a marriage bureau compared with matrimony apps like Shaadi.com sets the two models side by side.
The honest bottom line
Premium matchmaking is a good use of money when it replaces work your family cannot do well, and a poor one when it is bought as a promise. Decide on the work you want carried, not on whichever service sounds most confident. What Indian families actually spend on a wedding, and what the listed matrimony companies charge for a subscription, is on our Indian wedding industry statistics 2026 page, every figure sourced and dated. If you would like to talk it through before deciding, call us or message us on WhatsApp at +91 93555 66533, Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM IST.
