NRI Matrimony, USA
Matrimonial services for NRI families in the USA
Evara has served NRI families in the USA from Delhi since 2012.
The full answer
Evara Matrimony has served NRI families in the USA since 2012 from its one Delhi office. New York is 9 hours 30 minutes behind India in summer and 10 hours 30 minutes in winter, and California three hours more, so Delhi desk hours reach East Coast mornings and WhatsApp covers the rest. Introductions open on video.
The things a search here must plan for
What American Families Weigh
A search rooted in the United States carries considerations a domestic search never faces. We plan for each of them.
Immigration pathway
H-1B, employment-based green cards, and citizenship are each part of compatibility here. In fiscal year 2024 Indian nationals received about 71 percent of all H-1B approvals, so a single family often spans several statuses. We discuss this openly rather than letting it surface late.
Stay-or-return plans
Some families are building a permanent American life, others expect to return to India, and many are undecided. Whether a household plans to settle or return shapes who will be a good match, so we establish it at the start.
First and second generation
With about a third of Indian Americans US born, many candidates blend their community’s values with an American upbringing. We match on the real person and listen to what the candidate and the parents each want.
Coast-to-coast time zones
The US spans several time zones, all many hours behind India. Every call and introduction is scheduled around your zone and theirs, so no family is deciding on a life partner at an impossible hour.
What a check settles
A person checks each profile before it appears. Selfie and ID checks are optional and settle a name and a photo, so education, employment and a green-card timeline are for the two families to ask each other, in the US or in India.
Privacy across the community
American Indian communities are large but connected, and word travels. Your details are shared only with your explicit approval, and never listed publicly.

The clock, the cities, and what it costs
Working From the US
One Indian family in the USA can hold a green card, an H-1B and a US passport between its members, and whether a household means to settle or return shapes every match. Evara Matrimony has introduced Indian families in America to families in India, across the country and in the wider diaspora since 2012, from one office in Delhi, and we raise visa status and stay-or-return plans on the first call. The Delhi desk is open through the American night and early morning, so start with a WhatsApp message at any hour, or join free online.
The first practical fact of a search from America is the clock. In summer New York is 9 hours 30 minutes behind India and California 12 hours 30 minutes; in winter the gaps widen to 10 hours 30 minutes and 13 hours 30 minutes. So the Delhi desk, open Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM IST, overlaps with the early East Coast morning and very little of the Pacific day. WhatsApp on +91 93555 66533 takes a message at any hour, which makes it the easiest first step from any US time zone.
Where you live shapes who is close. Around half of Indian Americans live in California, Texas, New Jersey, and New York, and the largest metro communities are the New York area, Dallas, and the San Francisco Bay Area, so a match may be a few towns away, a flight across the country, or a family in India. Every introduction opens on video, and a meeting in person is planned around a trip home or a family gathering on either side.
Joining is free, and every price is quoted in rupees, the same figures a family in Delhi sees. Membership brings matches chosen for you each day with nobody assigned to your family, while Select and Reserve add a named matchmaker who coordinates between your US city and India. Both routes are costed further down this page, and the spouse visa steps that follow a wedding are set out in our guide to marrying and moving a spouse to the USA.
Matchmaking across America
One of the World’s Most Established Diasporas
India has the largest diaspora in the world, and the United States is one of its largest and most settled corridors. As of 2022 the country was home to about 4.8 million Indian Americans, among the largest Asian-origin groups in the nation. This is not a new or scattered community: about two thirds are immigrants and about one third are US born, which means a family arranging a match today is often bridging a first generation raised in India and a second generation raised in American schools.
For families the wish is the same one carried at home: someone who shares the community, the values, and the sense of belonging. What America adds is scale, distance from India, and a genuine mix of immigration paths within a single extended family, from a student on an F-1 visa to an H-1B engineer to a cousin who has held citizenship for thirty years.
How a search across the US runs
How It Works
It begins with a video profiling conversation, whether you are on the East Coast, in Texas, or on the West Coast. We learn your community and sub-community, dietary and lifestyle preferences, whether the family expects to settle in the US or return to India, career expectations for a match, and what compatibility means for your household. Where a candidate grew up in America, they usually join that call themselves.
From there introductions are video-first, so a family in Atlanta and a family in Delhi, or two families in different American cities, can meet properly before anyone travels. When a match is worth pursuing in person, we plan the meeting around trips home to India, a festival visit, or a gathering arranged for the purpose. On personalised plans a matchmaker manages the whole coordination for you, across zones and countries.
One point of honesty about visibility. On membership you hold a checked profile that matched families can see. On our personalised plans a matchmaker manages introductions for you. And for families who want complete privacy, our invite-only Luxe service never lists your family in the searchable member database or in search, with a Senior Relationship Manager and full discretion. We match the level of visibility to what your family is comfortable with, rather than pretending one size fits everyone.
Marriage, OCI, and documents
Good to Know
Families across the US often ask what a cross-border marriage means legally, and it is worth understanding before the wedding. Registering the marriage is your proof of it for visas, spousal sponsorship, and legal protection. If the wedding takes place in India, the certificate carries weight in the United States because India has been part of the Hague Apostille Convention since 2005, so an Indian marriage certificate can be apostilled for legal use here. A foreign-national spouse can, in time, apply for Overseas Citizenship of India, the status introduced under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act of 2005, once the marriage is registered and has subsisted for at least two years.
The Ministry of External Affairs publishes guidance for Indians marrying abroad and offers support for people, women in particular, who face distress in a cross-border marriage. Every US state and the federal system run their own processes, and we are not lawyers or immigration advisers, so we point families to official government sources for the formalities. What careful matchmaking with checked profiles does is prevent most of the problems these rules exist to address, by making sure both families know exactly who they are dealing with before an alliance is agreed.
What It Costs
Two routes for families in the USA, and what each costs
The difference between the two routes is who does the choosing. On membership the matching is algorithmic and a person checks each profile. On the matchmaker led services a named person reads your family and picks every introduction.
Membership
₹999 a month, and nothing at all to join
Matches are chosen for you and a small set arrives each day. Every profile is checked by a person before it appears. Nobody is assigned to your family. Lifetime is the same service bought once instead of monthly. Membership does not include a matchmaker, and the membership page sets out what selection involves and what the Select and Reserve tiers add. Is a matchmaker included. What each check establishes, and what it does not, is set out on the profile verification page. How profiles are checked.
See every membership term and lifetime
Matchmaker led
Select from ₹51,000 for 6 months (also ₹75,000 for 12 months or ₹1,00,000 until married)
Reserve is ₹2,51,000 in total, in two parts, with the second part due at a Roka with a family Evara introduced. Luxe is by invitation.
A named relationship manager learns your family, chooses each introduction by hand, gives you the reasoning for it, and is with you at family meetings in Delhi NCR, and on video call across India. Select is the first of these services and Reserve is the senior service above it. Each is bought separately, from the other and from membership.
Lifetime membership is one payment that never renews, and it is priced on its own page. Select and Reserve are priced inclusive of GST, and each is bought on its own. Read the Payment Terms before you pay.
✦ Reserve suits American families who want a senior matchmaker to handle the entire search across the US and India. For families who want complete privacy, our invite-only Luxe service never lists your family in the searchable member database or in search, with a Senior Relationship Manager and full discretion. Membership and details are discussed privately. Who the assisted service suits, and who it does not, is set out on the matchmaking page. Who it suits.

Indian matrimony in the USA FAQs
What Indian matrimonial services does Evara offer NRI families in the USA?
Two routes, both run from the Delhi office. On membership, matches are chosen for you each day and your family reads them and decides. On Select or Reserve, a named matchmaker chooses every introduction and coordinates between your US city and India. Both are priced in rupees, and joining is free.
Which parts of the US do you serve?
All of it. The largest Indian communities sit in the New York area, the San Francisco Bay Area, Dallas, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, and Seattle, and we work across every zone. Around half of Indian Americans live in California, Texas, New Jersey, and New York, and we regularly match families in and between those states.
Can immigration status and green-card plans be part of matching?
They should be. H-1B, employment green cards, and citizenship are each part of compatibility, and in fiscal year 2024 Indian nationals received about 71 percent of all H-1B approvals, so a single family often spans several statuses. We treat status and stay-or-return plans openly from the first conversation.
How do time zones and family meetings work across the US?
The US spans several time zones, all many hours behind India. We schedule calls and introductions around your zone and the other family’s, so no one is deciding on a life partner at an impossible hour. In-person meetings are planned around trips home, festivals, or a visit arranged for the purpose.
Common Questions
Evara is in India. Can it really help a family in the United States?
Yes, and it is worth being plain about how. Evara has one office, in Pitampura in North Delhi, and no office anywhere else, including none in the US. What travels is the work: the same matchmakers who meet families in Delhi handle American families over calls and video, and have done since 2012. The team answers between 10am and 7pm Indian time, GMT+5:30, Monday to Saturday, which lands overnight and in the early morning across US time zones. Rather than ask you to call at 3am, WhatsApp on +91 93555 66533 is the sensible route, since neither side has to be awake at the same moment, or you can leave your number at evaramatrimony.com/contact and the team calls at an hour that suits you. The one Evara office, its hours and how to book an appointment are on the contact page. Where the office is.
Do you match families within the United States as well as with India?
Both. We connect Indian families across American metros as well as with families in India and the wider diaspora. Where both families are already in the US, a meeting in person is often a short flight away. Where one is in India, we coordinate across both time zones and plan any in-person meeting around trips home.
What should we know about registering the marriage and OCI?
Registering the marriage is your proof of it for visas, sponsorship, and legal protection. Because India joined the Hague Apostille Convention in 2005, an Indian marriage certificate can be apostilled for use in the United States. A foreign-national spouse can generally apply for Overseas Citizenship of India once the marriage is registered and has subsisted for at least two years. We are not lawyers and point families to official government sources for the detail.
