What most people assume
Somebody who cares about you sent you this link, and you did not ask for it. You can close it.
Most people assume a matrimony site means being listed, browsed and judged by strangers, and that people they know will see them there. That is a fair thing to assume, and part of it is true. Here is what actually happens, in plain terms, so you can decide on facts rather than on a guess.

Who can actually see a profile
The full answer
Membership: only verified Evara members can see your profile, never the public or search engines. Select and Reserve: while your plan is active, your profile is taken out of what members see. A member has to pass our photo check before their profile can be shown, and before any profile is shown to them.
You can choose to show a short version of your profile, with your first name, age, city, religion and community, and keep your photos and the rest of your details hidden until you and the other member have both shown interest. That choice is open to every member, and it costs nothing.
Now the part that is usually left out. What you control is how much is shown, not which members see it. Any member who has passed the photo check can be shown your profile, and that can include somebody you know. The short version above is the answer to that, and it is why it is the first thing we mention.
If you do nothing
Somebody can start a profile about you, and fill it in without you.
Someone starts it
Often a parent, without you.
The photo check
A selfie is required.
You can close it
Ask for the sign-in.
The full answer
This is the question worth asking, so here is the honest answer rather than the comfortable one. A parent can begin a profile for their adult child without them. Evara's sign up asks who the profile is for, and it offers son and daughter as answers, so if somebody has already started one for you, that is possible.
A profile is not visible the moment it is made. Before other members can see it, it has to pass our photo check, and a selfie check is required before any profile is shown: the selfie is matched against the photographs on the profile, to confirm the person matches them. Even so, we are not going to tell you that nothing can happen unless you act, because a profile about you can still be started and filled in without you.
So here is the part you can act on. A profile like that is run from one account, and whoever set it up holds the sign-in. Ask them for it. Once you are in, you can record on the profile that it is your own, and closing it removes you from what other members can see, with no waiting period. Nothing is deleted unless you ask for that separately. If you would rather not go through your family, write to us directly. That form is not only for complaints: withdrawing consent and deleting your data are two of the things it is for, and a person answers within seven working days.
If you and somebody else both say yes
Interest has to go both ways before anything opens up.
The full answer
Evara never shares your phone number or email; chat opens when you both say yes, and families share numbers themselves. Until then, the other side does not have your number.
When two families have both said yes, Evara opens a way for them to talk. What that costs is a separate question from joining, and the answer is nothing, for free and paid members alike.
Joining Evara is free, and it stays free. That covers making a profile and being seen by other members.

What this is not
Evara is not a dating app, and not a public list anyone can page through.
What it is
It is a matrimony service, which means everybody on it arrived looking for the same thing. That is the whole of it.
If you would rather do nothing today
That is a real answer, and it is allowed.
Before you go
Nothing on this page needs a reply.
If you do want to see what your family has been looking at, the membership page says what it includes and what it costs, and the questions page answers the rest.
And if you would rather tell the person who sent you this that you read it and leave it there, that is a complete answer too.
